Involvement in the Community
Twyford Parish Council have been involved with, and continue to be involved with many community projects.
The Community Orchard came about through a project funded by the Big Lottery Funds Local Foods scheme, delivered in partnership by Twyford Parish Council, the Community Council for Berkshire and Wokingham Borough Council. The trees were planted by volunteers in Autumn 2011 and represent a source of food available to the whole community. Orchards have been established in Wargrave, Twyford, Swallowfield and at Dinton Pastures Country Park. A total of 250 trees have been planted, representing an amazing 109 varieties of apple, pear, medlar and quince.
Annual Litter Pick
Twyford’s annual litter pick is held in March. It’s a great opportunity to meet local people and help keep the village clean. You can help for as little or as long as you want to and no experience is necessary. Litter pickers and safety vests will be provided but remember to wear gloves and sturdy shoes. The meeting point is Loddon Hall car park, Loddon Hall Road. The date of the next litter pick will be published soon.
