Update on twinning with Cuincy

It was agreed to express a serious interest in twinning with Cuincy at a meeting of local organisations organised by Twyford Parish Council on Thursday.  Twyford Parish Council were approached by the Cuincy twinning project almost a year ago. Cuincy is a city of 7,000 residents located close to Lens and Lille in Northern France and they are looking to launch a twinning relationship with Twyford that would include regular cultural or sporting exchanges.  They hope to have something in place for the Centenary celebrations of the end of the First World War in 2018 – there is a British cemetery in Cuincy.

Two meetings already held have attracted members from over 14 clubs, schools and organisations in Twyford.  The next meeting will be held at 7:45pm in the Ruscombe Room of Loddon Hall.  Anyone interested in being involved with this exciting new project is welcome.  For more information contact the clerk [email protected].  For copies of the Twinning minutes and agenda for the May meeting:
